I was reading today Matthew chapter 3, where we read about the work of John the Baptist, whom God sent to prepare the way for Jesus. John the Baptist said to the people: Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near and produce fruit in keeping with repentance. I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes one who is more powerful than I, and He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. What did we learn? First, it is not enough to repent, but we should produce fruit in keeping with repentance. So, you want to change and you say it, but you should start giving demonstrations of that change in your life. John baptized with water on the outside, symbolizing repentance and change. But Jesus baptizes with the Holy Spirit and fire, in the inside and producing real change, transforming us from within. If you accept that you must change some things in your life, make a real change from within. And that can only be done, if you ask Jesus into your heart to make you the person that he designed, rather than the person shaped by the world. You can achieve the potential and freedom that God designed for you, allowing Jesus to baptize with the Holy Spirit and fire. Have a happy and blessed day.
