Make An Alliance With God’s Spirit

Today I read Matthew 12:22-37, where Jesus teaches us that who works in unity with God’s Spirit, produces good fruit, and who with their words or actions attack the work of God’s Spirit, will not be forgiven. The first question is: How clearly can we acknowledge the work of God’s Spirit? At this point, the Apostle Paul helps us with his letter to the Galatians, Chapter 5, which tells us that the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Paul says that against such things there is no law and we know that fruit always produces faith, hope and unity. When we see work with this fruit, let’s recognize that it’s the work of God’s Spirit and accept it. Now the second question is: Why would someone attack the work of the God’s Spirit? Unfortunately, sometimes it happens for fear of what we don’t know, fear of what is different, fear of change, attachment to traditions and rules and even vanity, greed and envy. That's what happened to Jesus in this passage when he healed the blind and dumb and the pharisees said it was not God’s work but the devil’s. Let’s learn this lesson and keep our human paradigms from preventing us to acknowledge the work of God’s Spirit, and much less attack it with our words or actions. Let’s ask our heavenly Father to fill us with His Holy Spirit so that we are all is on the same page and united with one mind and heart, supporting His Work with the breadth of understanding that only God's Spirit can give us. God bless you always.
